HUD Secretary Announced In 6AM Email and Radio Address

Obama has effectively used a media platform to create a narrative of authority and cohesion with his prior Cabinet announcements. He has cleverly announced most of his prior personnel choices as "teams." In my opinion, this has enhanced the force of their appointments.

Poor Shaun Donovan. Obama named Donovan, his choice to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, in a 6:00am email and later in his weekly radio address. Donovan currently serves the head of Housing and Historic Preservation for the City of New York. He has held that post for four years. Donovan was also a deputy assistant secretary at HUD during the Clinton administration.
